I don't know if this little bit of information will be helpful, but I thought I would share it. For those of you who read this and own your home. If you are ever in a situation like we are in and all your food is spoiled due to power outages, your home owner's insurance will cover it with no deductible. At least I know mine does. It literally took me 5 minutes and they told me they would have a check in my account within 48 hours. I am not sure if this works for renter's insurance, but I would highly recommend you check into it.
